National Cat Day

Do you have a kitty? If so, put a paw print on your calendar for October 29th: it’s National Cat Day! While Fluffy would of course insist that every day should be National Cat Day, this is still a great time to pay some extra attention to your feline buddy. Read on as a local Farmington Hills, MI vet lists some super cute ways to celebrate your cat’s special day.

Treats

Why not offer your kitty a special treat? Store-bought treats are fine, but you can also give your furball some shredded deli meat. A can of tuna in water is a good option. Fluffy can also enjoy some plain, cooked chicken, meat, or fish with the bones or fat removed.

Window Seat

Birdwatching is one of Fluffy’s favorite activities. Make your kitty a comfy window seat, where she can relax and spy on local wildlife. You get extra purrs for putting a birdfeeder up in your cat’s line of sight.

Plants

Many people like to send roses or flowers for special occasions. Fluffy may not care too much for a pretty bouquet, but she will appreciate a small pot of catnip or cat grass.

Toys

While catnip mice will always be popular with our feline friends, you can now find all sorts of fun modern toys for your furry buddy. Offer Fluffy a mechanical mouse, a robotic floating fish, or some catnip bubbles. You can also order your kitty some DVDs, or download some apps for her to play with on your phone.

Beds

Our feline pals certainly do take their beauty rest seriously! Pick up a new bed for your drowsy pet to look adorable in.

Purrniture

Cats really benefit from having some things they don’t have to share with their human buddies. Buy or make your pet some furniture of her own.

Veterinary Appointment

We know, Fluffy would much rather take a nap than come and visit us. However, your furry pal will both look and feel better with proper veterinary care. Schedule your kitty’s next appointment!

Snuggles

At the end of the day, the best way to pamper your feline friend is just to spend time with her, and pay her lots of attention. Time spent with kitties is never wasted!
