Fluffy’s Pet Peeves

Cats are very quirky little furballs. Every single one of our feline buddies has some individual characteristics. Perhaps your kitty doesn’t know how to cat properly, and acts more like a dog. Or maybe your furball can’t resist paper bags. However, it’s probably safe to say that, no matter how unique your kitty is, she shares some common likes and dislikes with other cats. Read on as a Livonia, MI vet lists some of Fluffy’s pet peeves.

Baths are definitely at or near the top of this list. While there are a few kitties, like the Turkish Angora, that seem to have missed this memo, most of our feline friends absolutely hate water. There is a good reason for this. In the wild, water can contain dangerous currents. It can also hide predators and other hazards. Then again, maybe Fluffy just knows she looks a little funny with her fur soaking wet!

Loud Noises

While some cats will barely bat an eye at background noise, many of our feline overlords prefer peace and quiet. Fluffy may actually run for her favorite hiding spot at the sound of a pan being dropped or the doorbell ringing!

Car Rides

As we mentioned above, cats all have their own personalities. It’s probably safe to say that a few of our feline patients don’t mind car rides. However, these kitties are definitely in the minority. Most of them absolutely hate going for rides!

Being Moved

As you’ve probably noticed, cats are very, very fond of their beauty rest. Fluffy will spend a good chunk of her time either napping or moving from one napping place to another. It’s also not uncommon for our feline pals to take at least some of their naps on their humans’ furniture, computers, and/or laps. Sooner or later, you’ll need to move your kitty mid-snooze. Don’t be surprised if you get a tiny little meow of protest from Her Furry Majesty!

Attention Done Wrong

Cats can be very purrticular about just how and when they like to be petted, and for how long. Too much attention and too little attention are both grievous errors in Fluffy’s rulebook! Petting your kitty the wrong way is also a huge no-no.
